Sr Engineer (Control Systems) (Embedded Systems)

Location: North Andover, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid with onsite work 3 days per week

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus plan with an 8% target

What you will do

• Design, code, document, test, and maintain real-time embedded software for medical devices.
• Develop and tune flow measurement, control, and motion-control algorithms for motors and actuators using MATLAB, Stateflow, Simulink, C, and C++.
• Create Simulink models and hardware/software test protocols to verify and optimize control algorithms.
• Perform software verification, unit testing, static code analysis, configuration management, and hardware/software integration.
• Develop Python-based data analysis and display tools and support functional and performance testing.
• Manage schedules and budgets for assigned deliverables while contributing to failure analysis and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience with complex, software-driven electromechanical systems.
• At least 3 years of experience with MATLAB and Simulink, plus experience addressing complex problems across multiple physical domains.
• Working knowledge of hierarchical state-machine control, nonlinear control-system design, embedded-software unit testing, and proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Ability to collaborate with peers, stakeholders, and test engineers in an iterative environment and apply advanced analytical and problem-solving techniques.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Medical-device software development experience.
• Experience with Simulink Coder, Stateflow, Simscape, Visual State, or Quantum Leaps.
• Experience with pneumatic and fluidic systems, Linux operating systems, and advanced degrees in engineering or physical science.
