Facilities Manager (Operations & Engineering) (Biotechnology)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin, United States; onsite

Base salary: $109,500–$164,300 per year. Additional variable cash programs and, for eligible roles, equity may be available.

What you will do

• Lead Facilities, Engineering, Security, Maintenance, and Site Services activities.
• Manage daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of building infrastructure and critical utility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, chilled water, compressed air, process gases, plumbing, fire life safety, and building automation.
• Develop preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies and asset lifecycle programs.
• Drive improvements in safety, reliability, energy efficiency, cost control, and service delivery.
• Manage operating budgets, maintenance plans, capital projects, vendors, contracts, SLAs, and contractor performance.
• Lead emergency response, business continuity, audits, inspections, compliance activities, and facilities personnel development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive facilities management, engineering, or operations leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience managing critical infrastructure in a regulated, technical, laboratory, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or commercial environment.
• Proven experience leading maintenance, engineering, and facilities operations teams and managing capital projects and operating budgets.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, chilled water, compressed air, building automation, fire and life safety, emergency power, process utilities, and facility reliability programs.
• Working knowledge of CMMS and strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, risk management, and people leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CFM, FMP, PMP, PE, LEED, CSP, or equivalent.
• Understanding of cGMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
