Underwriting Quality Manager (Commercial Casualty)

Location: Lenexa, Kansas, United States; primarily office-based

Base salary ranges mentioned for other locations: $96,000–$113,000 for New Jersey and $104,000–$114,000 for Chicago, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Assess adherence to the hirify.global Underwriting Control Framework across Commercial Casualty and Programs.
• Conduct annual audits across legal entities and portfolios, including pre-audit preparation, audit-tool use, grading, findings discussions, and wrap-up meetings.
• Review underwriting quality, pricing compliance, portfolio management utilization, management controls, and entity financial health.
• Prepare audit reports, review critical findings and recommendations, and validate action plans with country, regional, and global stakeholders.
• Provide local industry knowledge to the Global Head of Underwriting Audit and support training initiatives.
• Support Global Product projects and capability assessments aligned with product business plans.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with a significant-market-size property and casualty insurance carrier.
• At least 5 years of experience within a P&C carrier’s Product organization.
• Experience underwriting a broad range of products, placing facultative reinsurance, applying management controls, using portfolio management tools, and working with diverse distribution channels.
• Strong knowledge of product underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, tools, processes, management controls, and pricing methodologies.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, actuarial functions, reserving, DAC accounting, experience development, statistical rating, and business analytics.
• Ability to communicate global strategy and provide direction to regional and country staff.
