Personal Lines Underwriter (Insurance)

Location: Lake Elmo, Minnesota, United States; hybrid work may be available after initial in-person training

Salary: $50,000–$80,800 per year, plus potential bonus opportunities

What you will do

• Learn insurance coverages, contracts, policies, manuals, forms, endorsements, and underwriting procedures.
• Analyze loss experience, financial conditions, and physical characteristics of personal insurance risks.
• Make underwriting decisions in line with company philosophy and procedures.
• Develop working knowledge of supporting underwriting department functions.
• Communicate with independent agents and internal employees in writing and verbally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to organize data, multitask, and make independent decisions.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
