Construction Engineer (Transportation)

Location: On-site in Scottsdale, Arizona, based out of the Phoenix office; travel throughout Arizona is expected.

What you will do

• Inspect roadway and bridge construction activities and verify compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Complete daily inspection reports and document contractor manpower, equipment, findings, and completed work.
• Perform materials sampling, testing, inspection, certification, and acceptance tracking.
• Confirm that traffic control follows state and local standards and enforce construction safety rules.
• Track pay quantities, monthly progress payments, change order payments, and final estimate documentation.
• Draft contract change orders and support other construction management duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience inspecting bridge and roadway construction projects.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to read and understand construction contract documents, plans, and specifications.
• Ability to work on-site throughout Arizona, including holidays, nights, and weekends when required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Client focus, integrity, collaboration, and commitment to technical excellence are expected.

Nice to have

• ATTI, ACI, or ATSSA certification.
• Previous internship experience inspecting bridge and roadway construction projects.
