Head of Innovation

Location: New York, United States; hybrid

Salary: $152,290–$250,195 annually, plus potential incentive compensation

What you will do

• Define and execute a multi-year innovation strategy and roadmap aligned with FPRS priorities.
• Lead ideation, prototyping, rapid experimentation, MVP development, and pilot programs for new products and service models.
• Partner with delivery teams to transition successful pilots into production-ready capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and business growth across advisor, client, and internal user journeys.
• Translate emerging technologies and trends, including AI, automation, and digital engagement, into actionable initiatives.
• Build partnerships with vendors, startups, and industry organizations while fostering experimentation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in design, business, market research, innovation, or a related field, plus a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience leading design thinking or human-centered design organizations and implementing customer experience strategies in digital ecosystems.
• Proven experience as an execution-oriented people leader who can hire, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.
• Ability to lead through influence, manage complexity and ambiguity, and coordinate multiple partner functions in a matrixed environment.
• Strong executive presence, public speaking, presentation, collaboration, and change-leadership skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Background in insurance, annuities, or retirement solutions.
• Experience with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, or similar design applications.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and other visual communication tools.
