Technical Product Manager (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid, with a primary location in Chevy Chase, MD and an alternative location in Palo Alto, CA

Annual salary: $100,450–$157,850

What you will do

• Own product roadmaps, key results, and success measures through delivery.
• Translate business problems into product requirements, MVPs, user stories, epics, features, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with engineering on distributed-system architecture, APIs, batch processing, messaging, cloud computing, databases, and system dependencies.
• Define and measure KPIs, use analytics to validate assumptions, and refine the product roadmap.
• Drive product vision, go-to-market strategy, design discussions, and iterative Agile and Lean delivery.
• Coordinate stakeholders across business, engineering, design, and leadership while balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and business impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product management, technical product management, or a related role.
• Proven experience owning and executing product roadmaps.
• Working knowledge of distributed-system architecture, API design, cloud computing, databases, and data models.
• Strong knowledge of analytics, reporting, BI tools, UI/UX design, and Figma or similar tools.
• Ability to write and understand basic database queries and translate business needs into product requirements and user stories.

• Insurance industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as software engineering or computer science.
• Knowledge of AI fundamentals, including LLMs, recommendation systems, and models.
