Lead AI Technical Product Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office, in or within commuting distance of Louisville, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Boston, or Washington, DC; candidates must currently reside nearby or be willing to relocate.

Salary: $151,600–$208,400 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Define the vision, strategy, roadmap, priorities, and success metrics for a complex enterprise AI product area.
• Partner with business units to identify operational challenges, scope AI use cases, and develop value propositions, business cases, and ROI models.
• Build hands-on prototypes and demos with AI coding tools, then drive validated concepts from requirements and backlog definition through production launch.
• Define and measure AI quality using golden sets, ground truth, offline and live evaluations, and metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1, task success, and hallucination rate.
• Support architecture and feasibility discussions while owning prompt engineering, skills, reusable playbooks, and solution patterns for the AI harness.
• Lead cross-functional engineers, data scientists, designers, and business stakeholders without direct authority, while mentoring product managers and communicating with executive audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of product or related experience, including 4+ years in product management, with AI/ML or GenAI products shipped to production.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to prototype solutions and analyze or change model behavior.
• Experience building AI evaluations with golden sets, ground truth, offline and live evaluations, and precision- and recall-based metrics.
• Working knowledge of modern AI/ML and GenAI, including LLMs, agents, RAG, prompt engineering, and evaluation methodology.
• Experience translating business and technical challenges into requirements, roadmaps, business cases, ROI models, and investment decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with agent frameworks, GraphRAG, knowledge graphs, reusable skills, or plugins.
• A strong perspective on agentic AI, evaluations, and AI-native product development.
• Comfort working with ambiguity, at a fast pace, and from first principles.
