Capital Project Manager (Chemical Processing)

Location: In-office at the TAI plant in Taichung, Taiwan, with regular presence in operating units and construction areas.

What you will do

• Lead the full lifecycle of capital projects from concept development and front-end studies through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate with Business, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance stakeholders to align project scope, schedules, technical requirements, and operational support.
• Provide engineering oversight and ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, corporate engineering standards, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop capital budgets, manage expenditures and forecasts, and implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality.
• Create project schedules, identify and mitigate risks, and manage contracts, procurement activities, and vendor performance.
• Provide executive-level updates, maintain project documentation, and support transparent communication across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience managing capital projects in chemical, petrochemical, or related process industries.
• Experience delivering multi-million-dollar capital projects in operating plant environments.
• Strong knowledge of chemical process systems, unit operations, and process safety management.
• Experience with engineering design, construction management, commissioning, and startup, along with project management methodologies and tools.
• Strong financial, leadership, communication, stakeholder-management, risk-management, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• PMP or PE certification.
• Knowledge of materials management, procurement, receiving, warehousing, goods receipt, and related processes.
• Experience with the SAP Project Module and basic SAP transactions.
• Overall site project leadership experience and availability for cross-region or overseas project support.
