PCBA Sourcing Engineer (Server Hardware)

What you will do

• Identify, qualify, and manage PCB fabrication and assembly suppliers based on cost, quality, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead cost analysis, benchmarking, negotiations, cost modeling, and should-cost analysis for complex multilayer PCBs, PCBAs, and electronic components.
• Partner with hardware and system engineers during design reviews and NPI to ensure DFM/DFX readiness, manufacturability, and appropriate PCB stack-up, impedance control, and thermal design.
• Manage sourcing activities from prototype through mass production, including early supplier engagement, capacity planning, and materials readiness.
• Identify single-source, EOL, geopolitical, and other supply chain risks; maintain continuity through dual-sourcing and mitigation plans.
• Monitor component markets, lead times, technology developments, cost drivers, material constraints, and sourcing alternatives for server PCBAs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, or supplier engineering experience in the server industry.
• Deep knowledge of PCB and PCBA manufacturing, including SMT, BGA, reflow, conformal coating, AOI, and ICT.
• Understanding of high-layer-count PCBs, high-speed signal design, server-grade component sourcing, and the EMS supplier ecosystem.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle and cost analysis tools.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, cross-functional collaboration, project management, and deadline-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with major EMS providers and ODMs in server or networking hardware.
• Knowledge of supply chain risk management, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership analysis.
• CPSM, CSCP, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience managing global supply bases across APAC, North America, and EMEA.
