Manufacturing Automation Engineer (Electrical Engineer) (Industrial Automation)

Location: Stockton, California, United States. This is a full-time onsite position and is not eligible for remote work. Relocation is not available.

Salary: $81,000–$129,900 per year

What you will do

• Design electrical control systems, control cabinets, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for industrial machinery and automated equipment.
• Select and specify PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motor starters, safety devices, sensors, power supplies, and networking equipment.
• Maintain engineering documentation, revision records, and bills of materials for electrical assemblies.
• Support PLC programming, HMI development, troubleshooting, machine startup, testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance testing.
• Integrate conveyors, robotic systems, servo systems, and other industrial automation equipment with mechanical systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, manufacturability, and production efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, mechatronics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of experience designing industrial electrical control systems, control panels, and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of industrial automation, manufacturing processes, electrical components, and power distribution.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial networking.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings, with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLCs and FactoryTalk software.
• Knowledge of Fanuc robotic systems, photo eyes, and Keyence or Banner sensors.
