Senior Mechanical Estimator

Location: Lansing, Michigan, United States; full-time onsite role

What you will do

• Lead conceptual and detailed estimates for assigned construction projects, with a focus on MEP costs.
• Interpret incomplete and schematic design documents to develop accurate construction cost budgets.
• Supervise, review, and mentor estimators and estimating engineers.
• Lead major estimating efforts, value engineering, scope reviews, and estimate reporting.
• Collect and analyze close-out and benchmark data and maintain database pricing updates.
• Present estimating results and consult with clients, stakeholders, architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, engineering, business, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least eight years of estimating experience in construction or a related field.
• Knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, and other construction trades.
• Strong knowledge of estimating software, including on-screen take-off tools.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience completing large CM, CM-at-Risk, design-build, and complex competitive-bid projects.
• Experience with sales presentations and project pursuits.
