Senior Estimating Manager

Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York; full-time work in the New York City office

Salary: $233,646.46–$259,607.18 per year

What you will do

• Establish estimating strategies, methodologies, standards, governance processes, benchmarks, and cost databases.
• Direct estimates across conceptual planning, design, procurement, construction, and other project phases.
• Lead a team of five or more estimators, cost engineers, and project controls professionals.
• Oversee cost modeling, quantity take-offs, pricing, escalation, contingencies, risk adjustments, and estimate reconciliation.
• Lead risk-based estimating, quantitative cost risk analysis, change order and claims evaluation, and value engineering.
• Advise clients, public agencies, program executives, and multidisciplinary project teams on budgets, forecasts, cost performance, and financial risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, quantity surveying, cost engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in cost estimating, cost engineering, or project controls.
• Experience leading estimating efforts for infrastructure, transportation, or capital programs valued at $10 billion or greater.
• Experience managing and developing five or more estimators.
• Experience with conceptual estimates, engineer’s estimates, independent cost estimates, program-level estimates, life-cycle cost analyses, and risk-based estimates.
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software such as Sage Estimating or HCSS HeavyBid, with strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with major public-sector transportation agencies and large transit, rail, aviation, tunnel, bridge, highway, or vertical construction programs.
• ASPE CPE, AACE CCP, Professional Engineer license, MBA, or advanced technical degree.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, Power BI, CostX, RSMeans, Kahua, eBuilder, Oracle Primavera Cloud, and related project controls platforms.
• Experience with Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CM/GC, and Public-Private Partnership delivery models.
