Director, Critical Operations (Data Center Operations)

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; onsite role. Up to 30% travel. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead regional data center operations, uptime, safety, availability, communication, and operational excellence programs.
• Maintain and oversee electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, base building, and other critical facility systems.
• Manage site operations teams, training plans, mentoring, performance, team meetings, and employee development.
• Develop and manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, forecasts, vendor relationships, service contracts, procurement, and billing.
• Oversee maintenance, construction, commissioning, efficiency projects, audits, compliance, and technical procedure reviews.
• Lead incident reporting and root cause analysis while managing systems and processes that prevent unplanned, client-impacting outages.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in data center or mission-critical operations, including 3–5 years managing preventative maintenance programs and 3–5 years in vendor and project management.
• Expert understanding of data center electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, chillers, CRAH, CRAC, STS, ATS, and pre-action systems.
• Expert knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, NFPA 101, building codes, compliance, data center trending, and site monitoring systems.
• Experience with critical systems and building design, construction, commissioning, customer contracts, SLA levels, and ASHRAE standards.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass a comprehensive background and drug screening. On-call availability is required for emergency response.
