Location: Charter Steel, Saukville, Wisconsin, United States; onsite, first shift Monday through Friday, with ad hoc support for 24/7 operations. Travel is less than 10%. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

is a fourth-generation family-owned manufacturer, and Charter Steel supplies carbon and alloy steel bar, rod, and wire products while processing steel coils across Ohio and Wisconsin.
What you will do
- Supervise daily manufacturing operations and hourly production teams to meet schedules, customer demand, inventory, quality, and efficiency requirements.
- Drive safety, quality, teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement through employee engagement, coaching, Gemba, problem solving, and OpEx tools.
- Manage staffing, equipment, materials flow, training, and operational resources for safe and efficient production.
- Track and review KPIs, targets, records, and reports, implementing actions to improve performance.
- Lead productivity, quality, maintenance, waste reduction, asset utilization, and equipment downtime improvement initiatives.
- Support strategic planning, plant budgeting, environmental compliance, and collaboration with Human Resources and safety professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Seven or more years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, including at least three years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience using OpEx to deliver continuous improvement, cost reduction, and process improvement.
- Experience managing safety management systems and reducing incidents and exposures.
- Demonstrated planning, delegation, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, coaching, and team development skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to support 24/7 operations as needed.
Nice to have
- Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certification.
- Experience with steel, steel products, or related manufacturing.
- Maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ISO or quality system requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
