Cost Engineer

What you will do

• Lead development, maintenance, and analysis of project budgets, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and Estimate at Completion calculations.
• Monitor expenditures, commitments, accruals, forecasts, cost variances, trends, and productivity across multiple projects.
• Develop financial status reports, dashboards, executive reporting packages, and Earned Value Management processes.
• Evaluate change orders, contract modifications, and scope changes, supporting negotiations, claims avoidance, and dispute resolution.
• Identify cost risks and opportunities, perform scenario analysis, and support quantitative risk and contingency assessments.
• Present financial performance to clients and leadership, mentor junior professionals, and contribute to project controls standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance, accounting, economics, project controls, or a related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in cost engineering, project controls, construction management, or program controls.
• Experience supporting large data center, aviation, transportation, infrastructure, transit, facilities, energy, or capital improvement programs.
• Advanced expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, Earned Value Management, cost variance analysis, change management, and financial performance reporting.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and advanced financial analysis and reporting.
• Ability to independently manage multiple assignments, communicate effectively, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• AACE International certification such as Certified Cost Professional, Earned Value Professional, or Planning & Scheduling Professional.
• Experience with e-Builder, Kahua, Newforma, Primavera P6, or Deltek Vantage Point.
• Experience supporting private-sector data center clients and programs valued at $1B+.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 and schedule-cost integration methodologies.
