Senior Cost Manager (Data Centers)

Location: New York Office, United States; on-site at least three days per week. Periodic travel to project sites, vendor facilities, and partner locations is required.

Base salary: $165,000–$205,000 per year, plus bonus target and annual equity grant.

What you will do

• Establish and own centralized cost control across the project portfolio, including cost structures, account alignment, systems, processes, and reporting standards.
• Develop concept, feasibility, and preconstruction estimates for data center and power infrastructure projects, including utility interconnection, substations, site works, permitting, and constructability drivers.
• Own project budgets and cost reports through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, final account, and close-out.
• Manage commitments, accruals, cash flow forecasts, cost-to-complete, contingency, allowances, and contractor payment submissions.
• Lead change control, independently price and negotiate contractor changes, and defend the owner’s commercial position.
• Build the historical cost database and benchmarking framework, and produce portfolio dashboards, variance analysis, earned value reporting, and executive forecasts.

Requirements

• 10+ years of cost management, quantity surveying, or project controls experience on large capital construction programs, with hands-on delivery through close-out.
• Experience building or substantially rebuilding a cost control function, including processes, standards, tooling, and data.
• Experience developing concept and preconstruction estimates and carrying budgets through the full delivery lifecycle.
• Experience managing change and commercial negotiations on complex, multi-package projects valued at $200M+ in total installed cost.
• Expertise in earned value management, cash flow forecasting, cost-to-complete methodologies, contract structures, and cost management or finance systems.
• Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, or equivalent data analytics tools, plus a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, finance, or a related field.

• Data center, mission-critical, hyperscale, HPC, heavy industrial, or utility-scale project experience.
• Owner- or developer-side experience.
• Professional certifications or memberships related to the role.
