hirify.global operates Hartsville Operations, a mini-mill producing stainless steel bars in various sizes and specifications for distribution.

What you will do

• Study blueprints and layouts, plan machining sequences, and select work-holding methods, cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and depths of cut.
• Lift, position, clamp, and secure work-pieces using machine tables, chucks, centers, fixtures, hoists, and manually operated methods.
• Operate machine tools, regulate tool position and coolant flow, and verify machined work-pieces against specifications.
• Measure, mark, and scribe work-pieces; devise clamping methods and create special jigs and fixtures when needed.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for machine-shop tools, air supply, lubrication, and coolant systems.
• Support equipment troubleshooting and repaired-part installation, housekeeping, safety activities, cross-training, and the development of less experienced machinists.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and up to two years of on-the-job experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated skills through testing and practical application before progressing between skill levels.
• Ability to follow company safety procedures and use required safety equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, changing manufacturing environment.
