Sr Principal Technical Support Engineer (Semiconductors)

Location: Livermore, California, United States; full-time day shift with onsite support at customer fabs and OSATs when required.

Salary: $136,200–$178,815 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Provide expert technical support for probe card products in semiconductor production environments.
• Diagnose yield excursions, electrical continuity issues, contact problems, alignment and contamination issues, and parametric anomalies during wafer sort.
• Perform root cause analysis using ATE data, electrical measurements, microscopy, inspection tools, and wafer sort data.
• Guide probe card setup and optimization, including overdrive, contact force, cleaning cycles, alignment, and maintenance.
• Support new product introductions, customer qualifications, technical reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and customer training.
• Collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing, field service, and failure analysis teams to drive CAPA and engineering changes.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a master’s degree, or 3 years with a PhD; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Deep knowledge of semiconductor test processes, probe card technology, wafer probing, and wafer sort.
• Experience with electrical debugging, measurements, data analysis, and failure analysis.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment and provide onsite customer support when required.
• Strong customer communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global probe cards or similar MEMS, cantilever, or vertical probe technologies.
• Knowledge of advanced semiconductor nodes, including FinFET and 5nm/3nm processes.
• High-volume manufacturing, yield engineering, test optimization, field application, or customer-facing experience.
• Automatic wafer prober experience and hands-on mechanical assembly or electrical debug skills.
• Mandarin Chinese or Korean language skills.
