Junior WordPress Developer (Elementor)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office collaboration Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and remote work Tuesday and Thursday. Candidates must be Austin-based or willing to relocate to Austin.

Compensation: $20 per hour during the contract period. Contract-to-hire structure, 30–40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Build and update responsive WordPress pages and landing pages primarily with Elementor.
• Implement design comps with consistent spacing, typography, reusable sections, and global styles.
• Maintain content and layouts across multiple client websites.
• Perform foundational WordPress tasks, including guided plugin updates, user roles, site settings, backups, and site hygiene.
• Troubleshoot common Elementor and WordPress issues and support image optimization and basic caching practices.
• Implement forms, tracking snippets, analytics and tag manager placements, QA checklists, and staging-to-production releases.

Requirements

• 0–1 years of WordPress experience, including internships, freelance work, bootcamps, or personal projects.
• Hands-on experience building real pages with Elementor and using responsive controls and layout tools.
• Basic front-end skills in HTML and CSS.
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn quickly, and ability to follow checklists, standards, and documentation.
• Clear communication and comfort working collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Austin-based or willing to relocate to Austin to support the hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elementor Theme Builder, global styles, and reusable templates.
• Knowledge of WordPress hosting environments such as WP Engine or Kinsta, staging and production workflows, and backups.
• Exposure to WPForms, Gravity Forms, Google Tag Manager, GA4, or basic SEO concepts.
• Experience with ACF, custom post types, or WooCommerce.
