What you will do
- Build custom, responsive WordPress websites, themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks, and reusable components.
- Audit client sites, troubleshoot complex technical environments, and identify dependencies, conflicts, risks, and root causes.
- Review code and champion quality across functionality, accessibility, performance, browser compatibility, responsiveness, and design fidelity.
- Serve as a technical resource for developers and the Director of Development while mentoring and unblocking team members.
- Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect web experiences and independently correct visual inconsistencies.
- Optimize Core Web Vitals, apply WordPress security practices, and implement ADA/WCAG and technical SEO requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience, including custom theme and plugin development.
- Expert full-stack skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress, and Git.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, Gutenberg, APIs, integrations, databases, and hosting or deployment environments.
- Experience independently solving complex technical problems and troubleshooting multi-client or agency environments.
- Experience mentoring or technically guiding other developers, with strong visual and responsive design implementation skills.
- Portfolio demonstrating high-quality websites and complex development work.
