Logistics Specialist (Chemical Logistics)

What you will do

• Manage daily logistics execution in Japan, including shipment arrangements, warehouse coordination, issue resolution, and domestic, import, and export shipments.
• Coordinate freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PL vendors, and internal stakeholders on bookings, documentation, permits, customs clearance, and on-time delivery.
• Handle dangerous-goods transportation compliance and logistics for new and small-volume chemical products under Japan’s Fire Service Law and related regulations.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, control logistics transactions, and support physical stock counts.
• Use SAP for shipment execution, inventory management, and operational data control; support freight settlement and reporting.
• Work with Supply Chain, Sales, Procurement, Compliance, Safety, and GTC teams on operational and trade-related procedures, including EPA applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• At least 4 years of hands-on logistics experience, including operations in Japan.
• Experience with dangerous-goods shipments and regulatory compliance, including Japan’s Fire Service Law and chemical regulations.
• Hands-on experience coordinating customs clearance and managing logistics vendors in Japan.
• Good understanding of international trade and logistics processes, with basic knowledge of EPA applications and related trade procedures.
• Business-level English and native or business-level Japanese are required for reading, writing, and speaking.

Nice to have

• Experience with inventory management and logistics operations in a corporate environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar systems.
• Experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or international logistics operations.
• Experience with PowerPoint, Copilot, and data analysis.
• Conversational or stronger Mandarin Chinese skills.
