Customs Brokerage Agent (Logistics)

Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; onsite, full-time

Salary: JPY 220,000–320,000 per month

What you will do

• Ensure smooth and timely import and export customs process flow.
• Enter accurate customs and operational data into internal systems.
• Track and report customs files and support accurate, timely client billing.
• Transfer information from documents into the customs entry system to prepare valid customs declarations.
• Assist with verifying customs declarations and submitting them to customs authorities.
• Maintain compliance with customs regulations and customer instructions.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of customs brokerage processes and legislation, especially classification, valuation, and origin.
• Understanding of ocean, road, and air documentation processes.
• Successful completion of the Japanese Customs Broker Examination (Tsukanshi Examination) is required.
• Fluent English and Japanese at business proficiency for customer communication, email correspondence, and telephone support.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, proactive, and computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Word.
• Practical customs brokerage experience is not required.
