Director, Strategic Sourcing - Heads & Media

Location: Fujisawa, Japan; secondary location: Singapore. Onsite work at the Fujisawa office is specified.

What you will do

• Define and execute global sourcing strategies and multi-year commodity roadmaps for the Heads & Media portfolio.
• Lead strategic supplier relationships, governance, executive reviews, performance management, and escalation processes.
• Drive complex negotiations, long-term agreements, pricing strategies, cost reduction, value engineering, and total cost of ownership optimization.
• Manage supply continuity risks related to capacity, geopolitics, financial stability, compliance, and technology availability.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Development, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain teams on product and sourcing decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global sourcing organization, including succession planning and leadership development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
• At least 12 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, supply chain, or supplier management.
• At least 5 years of experience leading and developing teams.
• Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements with global suppliers and delivering cost savings, risk mitigation, and transformation initiatives.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, strategic thinking, financial understanding, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work onsite at the Fujisawa, Japan office; Singapore is listed as a secondary work location.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• CPSM, CIPS, CPM, or equivalent procurement certification.
• Experience in data storage, semiconductors, electronics, advanced manufacturing, precision components, or technology-driven procurement.
• Global sourcing experience across Asia, Europe, and North America.
• Experience leading large-scale transformation or cost optimization programs.
