Head of Digital Workplace Collaboration Platforms, Engineering & Architecture (Microsoft 365)

Location: Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Holmdel, New Jersey; or Hudson Yards, New York. The role is full-time and requires legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $132,420–$217,545 per year, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Define the vision, strategy, architecture, standards, governance, and roadmap for enterprise collaboration technologies.
• Lead engineering and operations for Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, messaging, conferencing, and related productivity services.
• Provide senior technical oversight for complex escalations, architecture reviews, integrations, migrations, and platform modernization.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Identity and Access Management, and business stakeholders.
• Own service reliability, resilience, disaster recovery, incident response, capacity planning, performance, and operational metrics.
• Lead engineers and architects while managing vendors, licensing, investment planning, and cost optimization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT experience and 5+ years leading Collaboration, Messaging, Microsoft 365, Workplace Technology, or Infrastructure Engineering teams.
• Current experience in a Director, Head, Senior Manager, Principal Architect, or equivalent leadership role.
• Expertise in Microsoft 365, Exchange Online and Hybrid, Microsoft Teams and Teams Voice, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, email security, mail flow, SMTP, and identity integration.
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell automation, Microsoft Purview, DLP, retention policies, compliance, information governance, and Zero Trust architecture.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale collaboration environments, leading migrations and transformations, building governance frameworks, and delivering resilient, highly available services.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship; Guardian does not currently or prospectively sponsor employment-based visas.

Nice to have

• Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Teams Administrator, or ITIL certification.
• Experience in highly regulated industries or leading enterprise collaboration transformations.
• Experience with AI-enabled workplace technologies and Microsoft Copilot.
