VP Engineering - Freedom Power (Aerospace/Defense)

Location: 100% onsite in Cedar Park, Texas, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR requirements.

Freedom Power Systems is a 30-person hirify.global subsidiary that designs and manufactures ruggedized, mission-critical power systems for aerospace and defense applications.

What you will do

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the engineering organization while managing project and program execution.
• Lead multidisciplinary electrical, mechanical, software/firmware, test, and network engineering teams.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept and design through prototyping, verification, qualification, release, and sustaining engineering.
• Manage schedules, costs, risks, milestones, and cross-functional coordination for complex programs.
• Strengthen engineering processes, documentation, design controls, manufacturability, compliance, and repeatability.
• Support customer engagements and proposal development with technical expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in aerospace, defense, power systems, or electromechanical systems.
• Experience leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of system-level integration involving power modules, converters, filters, thermal systems, and packaging.
• Experience with UL, MIL-STD, FCC, CE, and DO-160 compliance standards.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR requirements to access regulated information or technology.

• Experience integrating modular power components.
