Middle School ELA Teacher

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA; full-time onsite position

What you will do

• Develop year-long Oklahoma standards-based unit and lesson plans for middle school English Language Arts and reading.
• Use assessment data to adjust short- and long-term instruction and improve scholar performance.
• Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote critical thinking and academic rigor.
• Build respectful relationships with scholars and families and communicate individualized learning plans.
• Perform daily supervisory duties and participate in meetings, conferences, family events, and other school activities.
• Participate in professional development on Friday afternoons and fulfill school obligations consistently.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with the required certification for the assigned subject and grade level, where applicable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of English Language Arts and reading.
• Satisfactory background check.
• Commitment to an academically rigorous curriculum, an extended school day, week, and year, and continuous professional improvement.
