What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and collect blood and other specimens as ordered.
• Process laboratory orders, incoming reports, and specimens sent to reference laboratories.
• Maintain accessioning logs, quality assurance records, equipment documentation, and laboratory paperwork.
• Operate laboratory equipment and perform waived testing in accordance with CLIA requirements.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, work areas, and proper hazardous-material disposal procedures.
• Protect patient and medical staff confidentiality while delivering a compassionate patient experience.

Requirements

• Entry-level position; no prior experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state licensure, if applicable.
• Ability to perform venipuncture, handle needles and biological materials, and work around blood, body fluids, infectious agents, and chemotherapeutic agents.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

• Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy.
