TL;DR
Electrical Safety Oversight Specialist (DOE0135134) (Electrical Safety/Nuclear Operations): Providing electrical safety oversight and construction and operations support for DOE Environmental Management activities at the Hanford Site with an accent on LOTO program oversight, NFPA 70E compliance, arc-flash labeling, and investigations. Focus on maintaining electrical safety controls, supporting commissioning and decommissioning, and ensuring compliance in a high-stakes nuclear cleanup environment.

Location: Predominantly on-site at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site, Richland, Washington, United States; some remote support may be approved. Fieldwork with PPE is required.

What you will do

  • Oversee the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program and electrical safety activities.
  • Maintain the arc-flash labeling control program and support NFPA 70E compliance.
  • Conduct electrical safety investigations and develop related procedures.
  • Provide construction and operations oversight for commissioning, deactivation, decommissioning, and environmental remediation.
  • Support engineering, work inspection, field engineering management, and construction compliance activities for DOE Environmental Management programs.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of electrical safety experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with LOTO oversight, arc-flash controls, and procedure development.
  • DOE or nuclear-sector experience is preferred.
  • Safety mindset, strong communication, and vigilance.
  • Ability to work predominantly on-site in Richland, Washington, including fieldwork with PPE.

Nice to have

  • Relevant electrical safety certifications.
  • Environmental Management Sector experience.
  • DOE or other applicable security clearance.
