First Engineer (Maritime)

What you will do

• Develop and implement the preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, electrical equipment, lighting, bridge equipment, firefighting equipment, and safety gear.
• Manage parts and equipment ordering, fuel and oil bunkering, used oil tanks, and engine-room condition.
• Check voids and steering equipment, maintain the maintenance logbook and oil record book, and comply with oil pollution regulations.
• Stand watch and respond to emergency mechanical or electrical matters.
• Deliver engine-room tours and presentations for guests and conduct safety orientations for new crew members.

Requirements

• Engineer Class 1 or 2 certification under STCW95.
• Engineer Watchkeeper Certificate of Competency with First Engineer endorsement.
• ASSB, crowd control and crisis management certification.
• International AMSA medical, first aid or medical care on ships, and CPR certification.
• Passport and MSIC card.
• Passenger ship experience is preferred.
