What you will do
- Conduct vessel and barge vetting against company standards, industry best practice and marine assurance requirements.
- Manage compliance processes covering IMO conventions, Australian regulations and relevant industry guidelines.
- Audit and third-party marine terminals and conduct management reviews of ship owners and operators.
- Provide technical advice on shipping, tanker, terminal and ship/shore interface operations.
- Investigate cargo contamination, product quality and quantity disputes, marine incidents and operational issues.
- Represent with regulators, port authorities, ship owners and industry associations while training and mentoring shore-based personnel.
Requirements
- Full working rights for employment in Australia are required.
- Master Unlimited or Chief Engineer Unlimited Certificate of Competency with an Oil Tanker endorsement.
- Senior sea-going experience on oil tankers.
- Strong knowledge of ship vetting, marine assurance, maritime risk management, and international and Australian maritime regulations.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management capability.
- Availability to travel to operational locations across Australia.
Nice to have
- Lead Auditor training.
- Experience with oil spill preparedness, incident response, Australian shipping and bunker operations.
- Exposure to CPP tanker operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Experience with ship/shore interface management and terminal operations.
