TL;DR
A-Grade Maintenance Electrician (Industrial Manufacturing): Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveying, PLC, and SCADA systems supporting packaging production with an accent on preventive maintenance, automation, and equipment reliability. Focus on diagnosing complex electrical faults, conducting root cause analysis, implementing installations and improvement projects, and maintaining compliance with Australian Safety Standards.

Location: Melbourne, Australia. Onsite role supporting 24-hour plant operations, with a morning shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and occasional weekend production support.

What you will do

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveying systems.
  • Troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, I/O, and production equipment faults to minimise downtime.
  • Plan preventive maintenance schedules and manage work orders, failure reporting, parts usage, and labour records in the CMMS.
  • Install and commission electrical systems and equipment, including supporting OEMs during installation.
  • Maintain site services such as compressors, chillers, and boilers, and coordinate contractors and spare-parts inventory.
  • Support continuous improvement projects, root cause analysis, risk assessments, safety inspections, and production operations.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • A-grade Electrical License required.
  • Current Elevated Work Platform (EWP) License required.
  • Strong experience with electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, PLC logic, SCADA, and Siemens safety control logic.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS platforms such as SAP, Maximo, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Australian Safety Standards and site safety requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience in FMCG or plastics manufacturing.
  • Experience with modern manufacturing automation.
