Lead Software Engineer (Quantitative Investment)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid schedule with four days in the office and flexibility to work remotely one day per week.

Base salary: USD 90,000–180,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with Portfolio Managers and Quantitative Researchers to support systematic investment workflows.
• Design and implement software for portfolio construction, optimization, rebalancing, and risk analytics.
• Modernize quantitative platforms and build shared time-series and factor data services.
• Integrate internal and third-party datasets with accurate back-testing and point-in-time analysis.
• Contribute to research and production environments, CI/CD, environment standardization, and operational practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, documentation, and technical standards-setting.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of professional experience as a software engineer, quantitative developer, or in a similar role.
• Professional experience with Python and an object-oriented language such as C#, C++, or Java.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git, testing, documentation, logging, and code reviews.
• Experience designing APIs, services, or shared libraries used by multiple consumers.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or another cloud environment, plus Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with complex datasets and analytical workflows; familiarity with time-series data, numerical computation, and data modeling.
