What you will do

• Architect and scale distributed data systems and pipelines using Kafka and Spark to process real-time and batch risk signals.
• Lead technical strategy for the risk data stack, including database selection (SQL/NoSQL) and AWS cost-optimization.
• Design complex data models and feature delivery mechanisms for real-time decisioning and analytical needs.
• Develop advanced feature anomaly and drift detection capabilities to ensure high data integrity and privacy.
• Partner with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to build feature stores and automate ML model deployment and retraining loops.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers while leading architectural design reviews and setting engineering standards.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building scalable production-grade data systems.
• Proven ability to design large-scale distributed systems and a deep understanding of data lake architectures.
• Expert proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or Go.
• Extensive hands-on experience with big data tools: Spark, Snowflake, Kafka, and Airflow.
• Strong mastery of AWS services, including Kinesis, S3, EMR, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
• Must be based in or authorized to work in the United States (E-Verify employer).

Nice to have

• Experience designing data infrastructure for machine learning pipelines, specifically for drift and outlier detection.
• Domain expertise in FinTech, Fraud, or Risk management, dealing with high-volume transaction processing.
