Design-Build Senior Project Manager

Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York; onsite office-based role

Salary: $167,632.13–$191,579.57 per year

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end Design-Build delivery from capture strategy and preliminary design through construction completion.
• Guide integrated, multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with contractors, joint venture partners, public agencies, and executive stakeholders.
• Own project budget, schedule, scope, risk, quality, and overall performance.
• Act as the executive client interface with agency leadership, municipalities, and key stakeholders.
• Lead capture planning, pursuit strategy, and proposal development for major projects.
• Oversee construction-phase strategy, change management, safety, digital delivery, and QA/QC.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Active New York Professional Engineer license.
• 20+ years of experience, including recent leadership across design and construction.
• Proven success leading Design-Build projects generating $20M+ in fee revenue.
• Experience managing integrated teams of 70+ professionals.
• Expertise in commercial management, budget control, schedule oversight, risk mitigation, client leadership, and contractor-led or joint-venture Design-Build environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Progressive DB, CM/GC, and P3 delivery models.
• Experience winning and delivering major Design-Build projects.
• Knowledge of contract strategy, procurement, and risk allocation.
• Relationships with NY/NJ agency clients, including NYSDOT, MTA, Port Authority, NJDOT, and Amtrak.
• Experience with digital delivery tools and advanced design technologies.
