Senior Staff Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end design of complex electronics modules and systems, from concept and architecture through schematic design, PCB layout, testing, and production.
• Lead hardware architecture development, requirements definition, trade studies, and key component selection.
• Lead teams of hardware engineers developing multi-module products and provide subject matter expertise across hardware development.
• Perform worst-case circuit, signal integrity, and power integrity analyses and guide analysis methodology.
• Develop bring-up and design verification plans, conduct laboratory testing, and validate integrated systems.
• Release modules and assemblies to production while mentoring engineers and collaborating with manufacturing, test, software, and mechanical teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 12 years of industry or university research experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and testing.
• Experience designing high-reliability electronics and small systems for space or defense applications, including part derating, worst-case analysis, and thermal constraints.
• Expertise in PCB layout and manufacturing, including HDI stackup design, IPC standards, and industry best practices.
• Expert-level proficiency with electronics design tools such as Altium and experience with signal integrity or power integrity simulation tools including Ansys SIwave, ADS SIPro, or Mentor HyperLynx.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

• Experience leading teams developing multi-module assemblies, including hardware architecture, requirements, and interconnects.
• Experience designing for space radiation environments.
