Sr Principal HW Design Engineer-Emulation Acceleration System Platform

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite at the San Jose headquarters office

Annual salary: $178,500–$331,500 USD, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Architect, design, bring up, and sustain hardware system platforms.
• Design boards, create schematics, collaborate with layout engineers on PCB layout, and apply signal integrity expertise.
• Develop and apply hardware engineering expertise to incorporate relevant technology into products and processes.
• Establish hardware engineering standards, procedures, performance levels, and documentation requirements.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and design reviews to improve productivity and quality.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior hardware engineers and contribute to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 12 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 10 years of experience, or a PhD with at least 8 years of experience.
• At least 10 years of experience developing board-level hardware and systems.
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding junior hardware engineers.
• Proven success taking hardware systems from concept through production.
• Experience with system architecture, signal integrity and power integrity, power, BM, and high-speed interfaces.
• Experience with schematic capture software.
• Strong communication skills, especially for creating plans and reports.
• Ability to lead and contribute to cross-functional teams, work independently, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and manage multiple diverse tasks.
• Strong Electrical Engineering expertise, including design integrity, manufacturability, quality mitigation, and global standards compliance.
