Factory Automation Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop, deploy, commission, document, troubleshoot, and sustain automation solutions for probe card, wafer fab, VPS, assembly, and test operations.
• Translate manufacturing, equipment, process, quality, and operator needs into automation requirements, functional specifications, interface requirements, and implementation plans.
• Design robotics, PLC/HMI controls, sensors, actuators, motion control, machine vision, barcode/RFID, material handling, and workflow automation solutions.
• Automate equipment, product, process, maintenance, and quality data capture for traceability, SPC, FDC, yield analysis, dashboards, and maintenance planning.
• Integrate manufacturing equipment with MES, CMMS, SPC, FDC, APC, recipe management, dispatch, scheduling, data lake, reporting, and analytics platforms.
• Support equipment startup, qualification, validation, release to production, change control, production troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a master's degree, or a PhD without experience, or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
• Experience with automation scripting, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Linux, Microsoft Windows, Terraform, and manufacturing systems.
• Ability to support production-critical issues in a fast-paced startup and scale-up manufacturing environment.
• Experience with equipment integration and factory communication technologies such as SECS/GEM, GEM300, EDA/Interface A, OPC UA, REST APIs, message brokers, SQL databases, or custom equipment interfaces.
• Ability to create technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, validation records, source control notes, training materials, and operational handoff packages.
