TL;DR
Solution Engineer – IT Automation (Warehouse Automation): Defining, designing, integrating, and delivering warehouse control systems, AS/RS, and automated-guided vehicle solutions with an accent on IT/OT integration, business requirements, and end-to-end lifecycle ownership. Focus on connecting automation systems with SAP and SAP-EWM, supporting 24×7 operations, improving system scalability, and solving complex warehouse and material-handling challenges.

Location: Onsite at the Lock Haven, Pennsylvania facility, with 40–70% domestic travel to manufacturing sites in Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.

What you will do

  • Define, design, integrate, and deliver warehouse control systems, warehouse automation, AS/RS, and automated-guided vehicle solutions.
  • Partner with site engineering, operations, campus, and divisional leaders to document business opportunities, requirements, specifications, and solution scope.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and third-level support escalation point for assigned automation systems.
  • Integrate material-handling equipment and automation systems with business platforms including SAP and SAP-EWM.
  • Lead assigned automation projects to meet schedule, budget, business requirements, performance, maintainability, and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Ensure automation data is available in the analytics platform and train operations teams to use system capabilities effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of progressive IT/OT experience, including 3 or more years in automation systems, warehouse control software implementation and integration, or factory automation.
  • Experience with warehouse management, material-handling equipment, warehousing, inventory management, logistics, automated-guided vehicles, RF systems, robotics, and IoT devices.
  • Programming or scripting exposure in C/C++/VC++, Java, JavaScript, VB/VBA, ABAP, C#, ASP, SQL, XML, HTML, and PLC environments.
  • Experience with system testing methodology and software implemented in 24×7 operating environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
