UI Frontend Software Engineer (React)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required for this customer.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of UI and front-end developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and quality standards.
• Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front-end solutions using modern frameworks.
• Translate UX/UI prototypes and specifications into responsive, functional, and accessible interfaces.
• Collaborate with backend and systems engineers to integrate APIs and ensure efficient data flow.
• Contribute to full-stack development, including backend services, database interactions, and deployment pipelines.
• Resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser issues, technical debt, and software defects while supporting agile planning and architectural decisions.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
• 12 years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four additional years of relevant software engineering experience in lieu of the degree.
• Seven years of software database and repository interface development experience, plus proven team leadership or mentoring experience.
• Strong proficiency with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, along with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Full-stack experience with backend development, RESTful or GraphQL APIs, state management, component-based architecture, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GovCloud environments.
• Experience with tiered architectures and Linux/Ubuntu.
• Experience designing complex database interfaces, algorithms, real-time systems, or processing-intensive analytics.
• Experience with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.
