Software Engineer 3 (Frontend)

Location: On-site in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. United States Citizenship and an appropriate security clearance are required, such as active TS/SCI with an agency-appropriate polygraph.

Salary: $86.20–$136.27 per hour

What you will do

• Lead and mentor UI/front-end developers through technical guidance, code reviews, standards, and delegation.
• Design and implement scalable front-end architecture, reusable components, and responsive interfaces.
• Translate UX/UI prototypes into accessible, production-ready interfaces compliant with Section 508 and WCAG standards.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, UX/UI specialists, systems engineers, and product stakeholders to integrate APIs and resolve technical issues.
• Analyze requirements, develop and debug software, integrate systems, implement algorithms, and improve performance.
• Support testing, documentation, quality control, deployment, and full software lifecycle activities in an agile environment.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph.
• United States Citizenship.
• Twelve years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; four additional years of relevant software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience leading or mentoring development teams and strong proficiency with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, full-stack development, APIs, state management, responsive design, Git, CI/CD, and cloud environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GovCloud.
• Experience with tiered architectural systems and Linux/Ubuntu environments.
