Senior Industrial Mechanic

Location: Reading, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy industrial equipment and mechanical systems within the mill.
• Act as a working lead on the shop floor, supporting reliable, efficient, and safe maintenance operations.
• Coach and mentor other craft personnel.
• Support the Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Planner in executing work according to established management processes.
• Recommend and implement solutions focused on continuous improvement and minimizing equipment downtime.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as qualified mechanical craft personnel in a heavy industrial environment, preferably steel, metals, or manufacturing.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and preferably electrical circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI fall-protection expectations, and other applicable safety standards.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of TPM/LEAN practices.
• Project or program management experience.
• SAP experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
