Workers Compensation Risk Consultant (Workers' Compensation)

Location: Remote, California. The role includes attending in-person meetings with clients and vendors.

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 annual base pay, exclusive of bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Understand client businesses and recommend interventions to reduce workers’ compensation risk and costs.
• Provide strategic claim oversight, conduct video and telephone claim reviews, and initiate actions toward favorable claim resolution.
• Evaluate risks, support workers’ compensation jurisdictional compliance, and analyze reserve increases and exposure assessments.
• Review litigation correspondence, coordinate with legal counsel on litigation strategy, and monitor jurisdictional law.
• Review medical provider billing and repricing, enter claims information into electronic systems, and identify subrogation opportunities.
• Oversee managed care, bill review, case management, surveillance, subrogation, and Medicare Set Aside vendor programs; prepare reports, scorecards, loss runs, and trend analyses.

Requirements

• Must obtain and maintain a required state risk management license, such as a Property & Casualty Agent, Risk Manager, or Adjuster license.
• Two to five years of professional experience in risk management or claims adjusting.
• Strong administrative, organizational, problem-solving, critical-thinking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines, respond promptly to communications, and work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of customer information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience with California workers’ compensation claims.
• Bachelor’s degree.
