Auto General Liability Associate Counsel

Location: Diamond Bar, California, United States; regular attendance at trials, depositions, site visits, and other case-related events is required, with travel as needed.

Annual salary: $85,600–$141,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Handle a caseload of lower-complexity litigation matters under the mentorship and supervision of experienced counsel.
• Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation, negotiation, writing, and presentation skills.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, and other case documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, site visits, and other appointments.
• Provide case analysis and handling-strategy recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
• Build client and business-partner relationships while using case-management technology and automation.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to attend case-related events and transport to those events; a valid driver’s license may be required depending on the location.
• Proficiency with legal research tools and technology, plus the ability to collaborate with clients, colleagues, and business partners.
