Field Service Technician I (Security Detection)

Location: Detroit, Michigan, USA; daily travel to customer sites in and around the Detroit Metro area, including Detroit airport. Service may be performed at airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, and other required locations.

Salary: $64,680–$87,560 per year, plus a Business Profit Plan and benefits.

What you will do

• Install, repair, maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot field equipment and security screening systems.
• Respond to daily service needs, provide customer training, and deliver technical support.
• Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, open issues, parts usage, and customer reports.
• Order, install, and return parts while managing repair cycle time and controlling costs.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment; assess equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Support site surveys, pilot service activities, service sales opportunities, meetings, and collaboration with senior field service engineers and product managers.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, related trade certification, or military training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical disciplines; 1–3 years of equivalent related experience may be accepted.
• 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems and equipment in the field.
• Computer literacy, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to learn specialized software.
• Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, organization, and multitasking skills; willingness to travel at short notice.
• Ability to lift or carry 80 lb, push or pull 200 lb, and move equipment weighing up to 1,000 lb with appropriate assistance devices.
• SSI access and TSA vetting may be required, including a successful federal background investigation; a U.S. personal security clearance may also be required.
