Manual Machinist/Fabrication

Location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island, United States; onsite

Salary: $22.00–$26.00 per hour

What you will do

• Set up and operate manual lathes, drills, threading equipment, presses, and other fabrication tools.
• Perform threading, cutting, sawing, shearing, drilling, grinding, punching, reaming, deburring, and cleaning on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Interpret blueprints, operation travelers, and work instructions to select materials, tools, and machining methods.
• Complete first-piece and in-process inspections with micrometers, calipers, verniers, machinist squares, and gauges.
• Adjust and maintain equipment, organize tooling and materials, and safely operate cranes, dollies, carts, and other handling equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, report hazards, and cross-train across equipment and processes.

Requirements

• Approximately 1–2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines and lathes.
• Working knowledge of basic shop math and machining principles.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operation travelers, and written and oral instructions.
• Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to become certified to operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, and carts.
