Senior Machinist

Location: Boulder, Colorado; onsite, full-time day shift

Salary: $31.55–$41.42 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling machines, lathes, and machining centers.
• Perform manual machining and manufacture complex prototype and production components from drawings, models, and specifications.
• Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to improve quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T requirements; select tooling, workholding methods, cutting parameters, and machining strategies.
• Perform dimensional inspections using precision instruments, gauges, and CMMs, ensuring compliance with engineering and customer specifications.
• Improve machining processes, collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and assembly teams, and mentor less experienced machinists.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of related machining experience.
• Extensive experience with CNC milling and turning, manual machining, prototype development, and high-mix, low-volume production.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, machining practices, speeds and feeds, tooling selection, and material properties.
• Experience operating and programming Haas CNC machines; working knowledge of machining centers.
• Experience with precision measurement equipment, manual inspection methods, CMM programming, and inspection.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, mathematics, trigonometry, prioritization, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GibbsCAM programming software.
• Machining trade school certificate, completed apprenticeship, or related technical coursework.
