Chemical Systems Technician (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Bend, Oregon, USA. Full-time onsite role working rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

What you will do

• Operate automated chemical processing equipment through computerized control systems and detailed SOPs.
• Prepare, load, transfer, and process raw materials according to batch records and manufacturing specifications.
• Monitor process conditions, equipment performance, and product quality; perform in-process testing with specialized instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, process data, measurements, and deviation reports.
• Identify abnormalities, participate in investigations and corrective actions, and contribute to process improvements.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, and shift teams while following safety, PPE, housekeeping, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions and SOPs and accurately complete production and electronic records.
• Strong mathematical skills involving weights, measurements, ratios, percentages, and unit conversions.
• Ability to analyze information, troubleshoot manufacturing processes, use computerized manufacturing systems, and work with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to safely handle production materials and equipment and wear required PPE for extended periods.
• Willingness to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or technical certification in chemistry, chemical technology, industrial technology, manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, industrial, or other regulated manufacturing.
• Experience with automated equipment, DCS, PLC-controlled systems, or computerized process control.
• Forklift certification and experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, GMP, or ISO environments.
