Process Chemist (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Riegelwood, NC, United States. On-site second-shift role with flexibility between 11 AM and 9 PM; schedule adjustments may be required to cover shifts or support new process implementation.

What you will do

• Support batch manufacturing, new product development, process scale-up, and continual improvement across processes ranging from 5L to 1000 gallons.
• Execute standard batch manufacturing processes, monitor production, troubleshoot issues, and identify process deviations.
• Evaluate opportunities to improve process efficiency and yield and coordinate new project feasibility with management.
• Write and revise SOPs, execute SAP orders accurately, and maintain detailed production records.
• Operate forklifts, pumps, valves, and other equipment; perform troubleshooting and minor routine maintenance.
• Work cross-functionally to advance safety, quality, environmental compliance, and continual improvement.

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry or a related field.
• Experience interpreting analytical results and using SAP.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and disposal, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Strong organizational, documentation, written, oral communication, presentation, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to wear a respirator and perform moderate physical work, including lifting 50+ pounds, walking, bending, loading shelves, handling pallets and containers, and loading or unloading trucks.
• Ability to work the second shift and operate a forklift; training is provided.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Experience with process scale-up.
• Advanced SAP proficiency.
