Bodily Injury Claims Specialist

Location: Lexington, Kentucky, United States. Hybrid schedule: in-person initial training followed by the possibility of working from home up to three days per week. Regular attendance is required at a company-approved work location.

What you will do

• Investigate bodily injury claims by gathering facts through telephone, email, mail, and on-site investigations.
• Review policies, endorsements, and forms to determine coverage and interpret policy language.
• Evaluate losses, legal liability, and claim exposures, then make payments in line with coverage and liability determinations.
• Participate in claim negotiations, settlements, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials involving complex or unusual exposures.
• Provide customer service to agents, insureds, and other parties while adapting claim-handling approaches to each situation.
• Assist with evaluating and selecting outside counsel and maintain confidential claim information according to applicable requirements.

Requirements

• At least three years of insurance claims-related experience.
• Ability to organize and conduct investigations involving complex issues and reach logical, timely decisions.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate insurance policy language.
• Ability to communicate appropriate claim-handling techniques to participants in the claim process.
• Maintain required adjuster licenses within the applicable statutory or company deadlines.
• Must be able to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
